Miss Kathleen M. Forsyth

Miss Kathleen M. Forsyth, 75, of 109 Washington Avenue, who taught in the Batavia school system for 46 years preceding her retirement in 1963, died at 5:30 pm on Saturday, January 20, 1973. She had been a patient at St. Jerome Hospital since Nov. 13th.

Miss Forsyth was born in Batavia in 1897, a daughter of  John and Catherine Casey Forsyth. She began her teachng career in the fourth grade of Washington Avenue School in 1917, and taught English and Latin at Batavia Junior High at the time of her retirement.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and the Altar and Rosary Society, First Saturday Rosary Group, LCBA, and Third order of St. Francis. During her retirement, she served as a volunteer at the Beterans Hospital and was cited for her dedication.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Karl (Mary) Pfister of Fort Lauderdale, FL; two nephews, John J. Forsyth of LeRoy and Paul B of 7 Seneca Avenue, a niece, Mrs. Richard (Mary) Susat of Scottsville; great nieces and great nephews.

Friends may call at the Bohm Mortuary from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today. Services will be from the mortuary at 9:00 am Tuesday and at St. Joseph's at 9:30. Interment will be in St. Joseph's cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church or to St. Jerome Hospital. Members of all church organizations in which Miss Forsyth participated will recite the rosary at the mortuary at 8:00 pm tonight.
