Elmer Baker, Ex-Teacher Dies At 82
 
Elmer C. Baker, 81, of 9 North Park, an industrial arts instructor in the Batavia City School District for 40 years preceding his retirement in June, 1960, died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 1977 at Genesee Memorial Hospital. Death followed a short illness.
 
A resident of Batavia for 55 years, Mr. Baker was born in Tonawanda, October 6, 1894, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Baker. He  was a veteran of World War I and a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and Glenn S. Loomis Post, American Legion.
 
Surviving are his wife, Lillian Dimm Baker; two sons, Burton of Ontario, Canada and Ira of Attica; two daughters, Mrs. Dwight (Norma) Bolleau and Mrs. David (Dorothy) Brown, both of California; a brother. Robert, of North Carolina, a sister Lydia Baker of Buffalo; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was the father of the late Betty Cirillo.
 
Friends may call at the H.E. Turner Mortuary from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Services will be at the mortuary at 10 a.m. Friday. Interment will be in Grand View Cemetery.
