Miss Eleanor L. Haitz

Miss Eleanor L. Haitz, 88, of Batavia, a retired guidance counselor and dean of girls at Batavia High School, died Sunday,  December 19, 1993, at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Facility.

Miss Haitz was born September 11, 1905 in Bethany, a daughter of the late Cornelius M. and Blanche Covert Haitz.

She was a graduate of Batavia High School and University of Syracuse, and received her master's degree at Cornell University. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, New York State Retired Teachers' Associaton, Genesee Memorial Hospital League, and Batavia Study Club. She was a former member of the Board of Directors of the YWCA and one of the first directors of the City Youth Bureau.

Surviving is a nephew, Cornelius S. Haitz of Greensboro, N.C.

She was a sister of Cornelius C. Haitz, who died in May, 1985.

There are no callling hours. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. December 29 at the Bohm Mortuary. burial will be in Grand View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, Richmond Memorial Library or a charity of the donor's choice.
