Thomas J. Patterson Jr.  October 25, 1942 - January 26, 2000

Thomas Joseph Patterson Jr., 57 of Charlotte, N.C., a former resident of Batavia, died Wednesday (Jan. 26, 2000) at his home, after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Patterson was born Oct. 25, 1942, in Morgantown, W.Va., a son of Mary Elizabeth Patterson of Charlotte and the late Thomas Joseph Patterson.

He was a 1965 graduate of Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va., where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. After graduation from Officer Candidate School, he served in the U.S. Army Artillery in Vietnam, for which he was awarded the Bronze Star. He continued his military service in the Army Reserves and attained the rank of captain. He was an assistant manager with Bausch and Lomb in Charlotte and was director of operations for the Eastern United States with Apple Computer. Most recently, he was owner of Network Communications Technologies. An avid golfer, he was a member of Cedarwood Country Club and Carmel Country Club.

Surviving with his mother are his wife, Linda Patterson; a son, Michael C. Patterson, and a daughter, Sara E. Patterson, both of Charlotte; two brothers, Jon (Karen) Patterson of Buffalo and Michael (Martha) Patterson of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church, Charlotte. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Charlotte, 1420 East 7th St., Charlotte, NC, or the Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church, 8801 Park Rd., Charlotte, 28210. Arrangements were completed by the McEwen Funeral Home, Pineville Chapel.
