Frank E. Lord Jr. April 22, 1943 - October 24, 2009

BATAVIA - Frank E. Lord Jr., 66, of Batavia, tool and die maker at Doehler-Jarvis Division of National Lead in Batavia and Rochester Products, died peacefully on Saturday (Oct. 24, 2009) at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.

Mr. Lord was born April 22, 1943, in Batavia, a son of the late Frank E. Sr. and Ruth Jeanette Smith Lord.

A 1961 graduate of Batavia High School and vocational school where he studied to be a tool and die maker, Mr. Lord was the owner of L+L Racing for 30 years. Mr. Lord was the first white man adopted into the Tonawanda Indian Reservation by Chief Corbit Sundown. He was a member of the Hidixideo dance team with the reservation and his adopted Indian name was "Feather." A history buff, he was an Eagle Scout and scoutmaster for Troop 2. He was an avid race fan, who enjoyed fishing, hunting, football and hockey. He served with the U.S. Army National Guard as a tanker.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Ferringer Lord; his children, Frank (Tina) Lord, Paula (Steve) Kingdollar and Fred (Jill Majewski) Lord, all of Batavia; nine grandchildren, Christopher Michael Cook, Frank Ryan Lord, Brandon Kingdollar, McKayla Majewski, Nick Lord, Dylan Lord, Brianna Ball, Cameron Majewski and Kayla "Miss Annoying" Kingdollar; two brothers, Fred (Cathy) Lord of Perry and Paul "Bug Z" (Pati) Lord of Le Roy; two sisters, Mary Ann Lord Pedone of Buffalo and Janette (Phillip, Jr.) Vigneri of Elba; and several nieces and nephews.

He is brother of the late JoAnn Lord Myers.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the family. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Batavia.
