Irving J. (Junior) Fryer  December 11, 1943 - April 18, 2001

Irvin J. Fryer Jr., 57, of Bank Street died Wednesday (April 18, 2001) at United Memorial Medical Center.

Mr. Fryer was born Dec. 11, 1943 in Batavia, a son of Florence Lee Fryer of Byron and the late Irvin J. Fryer Sr.

He was an avid golfer and bowler, an employee of E. Sprague Electric Company in Batavia and a member of St. Mary's Church and the Polish Falcons Nest 493.

Surviving with his mother are his wife of 38 years, Margaret "Peggy" Szymanski Fryer; three daughters, Heidi (Thomas) Knight of Kenmore, Pamela (Adam) Mirabella of Garden City, Long Island, and Brenna Fryer of Garden City; five grandchildren, Kendra and Patrick Hennessey, Michael and Morgan Mirabella and Dominic Knight; three sisters, Gloria (Marvin) Dilcher of Albion, Geraldine (Anthony) Kasmarek of Batavia and Sandra (Nicholas) Dellapenna of Batavia; three brothers, James Fryer, Robert (Elizabeth) Fryer and David (Susan) Fryer, all of Batavia; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the J. Leonard McAndrew Funeral Home, 2 Bogue Avenue, where prayers at 8:15 am Saturday will be followed by services at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church.

Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for distribution to various charities.


Allthough not mentioned in the above obituary, Irvin J. Fryer Jr. served his country as Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam.
