Rochester: Lost his brief, valiant battle with pancreatic cancer on January 29, 2013. Julian is survived by his wife of 23 years, Deborah K. (Owens) Gorczyca; sister, Victoria Perry; brother-in-law, John (Joanne) Owens; nieces and nephews, Julie Betters, Cristine Betters (Kevin Tobin), Kathleen Betters, T. Andrew (Tina) Peake, Matthew (Katrina Fox) Owens and Ashley Owens; six grandnieces and grandnephews; many wonderful friends and neighbors. He and his beloved Rottweiler, Gretchen, are now together.

Julian retired 1995 after 28 years of service from Eastman Kodak as Inventory Control Manager (Roll Coating Division) and is a Veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was a regular Apheresis donor with the Red Cross. As a final gift, Julian has donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Rochester Medical Center and his corneas and eye tissue to the Rochester/Finger Lakes Eye & Tissue Bank. A Service to celebrate Julian's life will be announced in Spring.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Timothy Woodlock, MD, Kathy Penny, NP, and the Oncology staff at Unity Health System - St. Mary's Campus; the doctors and staff of 3600 wing at Unity Hospital; Lifetime Care; and the immense love, support and prayers of friends and family. The acknowledgement of which often moved Julian to tears of gratitude and love.
